On 13 Dec. 2014 Turkish By-law on Compilation and Distribution of Safety Data Sheets of Hazardous Substances and Mixtures was published from Turkey Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation. The objective of this regulation  is to determine the principles and procedures related with compilation and distribution of safety data sheet (MSDS) for effective control and efficient observance to protect the man and the environment against adverse effects of hazardous substances and mixtures placed on the market.

The new 16 section data format for the SDS sheets is required for substances that are to be shipped into Turkey. Turkish safety data sheets must compiled by experts who have obtained a certificate from certification institutions. Importer shall make sure that the safety data sheets (MSDS) of imported substances and mixtures are prepared by experts having the mentioned qualifications.

Suppliers shall upload the safety data sheets of substances and mixture placed on the market to the special programme on the website of the Ministry of Environment KKS application.

The KKDIK Turkish REACH regulation stipulates that Turkish safety data sheet (Turkish SDS) must be compiled for every substance by a licensed Chemical Assessment Specialist that registration is required. This data sheet provides control authorities within Turkey, also as buyers of your substances and/or mixtures, with safety-related information like , for instance , chemical composition, possible hazards, labelling, storage, transport and disposal. The important thing is that the info in Turkish safety data sheet and therefore the safety data in your registration dossier be in complete agreement with one another .
